Albert H. is a long-form interview podcast for people whose work and thinking deserve a more considered conversation than most formats allow. The format is institutional-friendly, built around editorial preparation rather than spontaneous exchange. What follows is how every conversation is run.

The format

A conversation of two to two and a half hours, recorded in person at a secluded and secure location. A five-star hotel in the guest's city, Soho House in Stockholm, or a private residence, office or institutional room where the acoustics allow. A three-hour scheduled block allows for logistics, introductions and any re-recordings. Edited for clarity, flow, content and cadence. Published on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and translated into twelve languages.

Further commitments.

  • The guest may withdraw at any point before publication, including after recording, with no obligation to give a reason. Nothing is published following a withdrawal.

  • Recordings, transcripts and edits are held privately by the editorial team until approval is given. Additional non-disclosure arrangements are available where institutional considerations require them.

  • Editorial stills from the day are the guest's to keep. No image is used without the guest's approval: stills not approved are deleted.

  • One member of the editorial team handles all communication from confirmation through publication.

What taking part involves, set out in full.

  1. Before the timeline

    The call

    A short call with Albert and a member of the editorial team. It establishes the guest’s current work, the themes worth pursuing, and any subject to handle with care or avoid. No commitment is asked for at this stage.

  2. Eight weeks before

    Confirmation

    Date, time and location are set in writing. A member of the editorial team is named as the guest’s sole point of contact, and from here handles every exchange with their office through to publication, so nothing is duplicated or lost.

  3. Four weeks before

    The manuscript

    A complete preparatory manuscript reaches the guest’s office: the narrative arc, the structured themes, the fact-points with references, and the full question set. The guest is invited to redirect emphasis, add themes, or remove anything.

  4. Four to one week before

    Refinement

    The manuscript is refined in dialogue with the guest’s office, emphasis and detail adjusted until both sides are satisfied. The finished document is what Albert prepares from, and what the guest knows the conversation will follow.

  5. The day before

    Travel

    Where needed, Albert and the production team arrive in the guest’s city the day before, and the room is prepared in advance. Where the recording is held in Stockholm, the team is already in place and ready.

  6. Recording day

    The guest arrives ahead of the conversation, within a block reserved for a walkthrough, any styling and a portrait sitting. The conversation itself is unhurried, with no audience and no outside attendees; the room is closed throughout.

  7. Two weeks after

    The full draft

    A complete first edit reaches the guest’s team as a private, timestamped link. Any passage at all can be marked for trimming, for clarification, or for removal, with no reason required and no restriction on what is asked.

  8. Two to four weeks after

    Iteration

    A revised cut is produced, and the exchange continues until the guest gives written approval of the final version. There is no limit on review rounds; the process ends only when the guest is satisfied.

  9. Four weeks after approval

    Publication

    The episode is released across YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts, translated into many languages at once. The guest’s team has the date in advance. After release, the conversation enters the archive as a permanent record.
